SEJARAH SINGKAT
The Ambon Village and Disadvantaged Area Community Training and Empowerment Center (abbreviated as BPPMDDT Ambon) is a Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) at the Echelon III level under the Agency for Human Resource Development and Empowerment of Villages and Disadvantaged Areas (BPSDM-PMDDT), Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Area Development of the Republic of Indonesia.
The history of BPPMDDT Ambon began with the establishment of the Ambon Community Training Center (BLM), which was officially established based on the Regulation of the Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Number 8 of 2017 concerning Amendments to Permendesa PDTT Number 9 of 2015. The presence of BLM Ambon was the result of the expansion of BLM Makassar with a working area covering the provinces of Maluku and North Maluku.
Along with the development of the organization, in 2020 BLM Ambon was transformed into the Ambon Training and Empowerment Center for Rural Communities, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (BPPMDDTT). This change was stipulated through Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Regulation No. 22 of 2020 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Technical Implementation Units within the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration.
Entering 2025, the nomenclature of the center was again updated to the Ambon Center for Training and Empowerment of Rural and Disadvantaged Communities (BPPMDDT). This adjustment is regulated in the Minister of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions Regulation Number 5 of 2025 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Technical Implementation Units within the Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration.
In carrying out its duties, BPPMDDT Ambon is technically and administratively coordinated by the Secretary of the Agency and technically and functionally coordinated by the Head of the Center within BPSDM-PMDDT in accordance with their respective fields of duty. This center is led by a Head of PPMDDT Center.
As an extension of the Ministry of Villages and Disadvantaged Regions of the Republic of Indonesia in the eastern region, BPPMDDT Ambon plays a strategic role in conducting training, developing human resources, and empowering rural communities and disadvantaged regions in the working areas of Maluku and North Maluku Provinces.
JOB AND FUNCTION
- Preparation of plans, programs, and budgets;
- Implementation of human resource development facilitation and training;
- Implementation of facilitation and assistance for the empowerment of rural communities and disadvantaged areas;
- Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting;
- Implementation of administrative matters; and
- Implementation of other functions assigned by the Head of the Agency.
