Ambon, August 21, 2025 – The Training and Empowerment Center for Village Communities and Disadvantaged Regions (BPPMDDT) Ambon officially launched the ARIKA Work Culture along with its Mascot, Nurika, the Ambon King Parrot symbolizing dedication, love, and excellent service.
The word “Arika” comes from the Ambon and Lease Islands dialect, meaning agile, quick, and responsive. It is developed into five core values of work culture, namely:
- Accountable – every staff member is responsible for their performance and results transparently.
- Responsive – promptly delivering services tailored to community and village needs.
- Integrity – upholding honesty, consistency, and strong commitment in all work aspects.
- Kinship – fostering harmony, togetherness, and mutual respect in the workplace.
- Green (Asri) – creating a well-organized, comfortable, and healthy workplace, while encouraging the development of sustainable, clean, and green villages.
The Nurika Mascot was introduced to strengthen this identity. As the Ambon King Parrot, Nurika represents Maluku’s biodiversity while carrying the philosophy of its natural red, green, and blue plumage, aligned with the Ministry of Villages’ official logo colors. Wearing the traditional Baniang attire of Ambon, Nurika embodies friendly, human-centered services rooted in local culture.
Through the launch of ARIKA Work Culture and Nurika Mascot, BPPMDDT Ambon aims to instill a renewed spirit that enhances staff performance and delivers more transparent, effective, and community-driven services for villages across Maluku and North Maluku.
